In plain English
- Businesses that use Josie text you about your appointments, messages and questions, and only after you agree to it.
- How often depends on what you asked for, usually one to three messages per appointment or question.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to stop the texts at any time, or HELP for help.
- We never share your mobile number or your consent with anyone for their marketing.
The program
Josie is an AI receptionist used by small businesses. When you call, text or book with a business that uses Josie, that business may send you text messages through Josie. Messages come from that business's own Josie phone number and name the business. Business owners using Josie may also get texts about their own account, such as alerts about urgent calls.
What messages you get
- Confirmations of appointments and bookings you make.
- Reminders before those appointments.
- Answers and follow-ups to questions you asked, and links you asked for, such as a menu or a booking page.
- For business owners: alerts about urgent calls and summaries of calls.
Businesses can't use Josie to send you marketing messages.
How you agree
You agree to get texts when you give your consent to a business that uses Josie: by saying yes when Josie offers to text you during a call, by checking a box when you book, or by texting the business first. Your consent applies to that business only. Agreeing to get texts is never a condition of buying anything.
How often
The number of messages depends on what you asked for. It is usually one to three messages for each appointment or question. Healthcare businesses send at most one message a day and three a week.
When messages are sent
Messages are sent between 8 am and 8 pm in your local time, except when we're answering a text you sent.
Cost
Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan.
Stopping messages
Reply STOP to any message to stop getting texts from that business. You'll get one message confirming that you're unsubscribed, and no more after that. You can also tell the business, by phone or in person, that you don't want texts. To start again, text START or UNSTOP to the same number.
Help
Reply HELP to any message for help, or email support@getjosie.com.
Carriers
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Privacy
We do not share mobile phone numbers or text-message opt-in data with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text-message originator opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party, except the service providers that deliver the messages. Our privacy policy explains how we handle all other information.
